First Basketball Game

This last week was Spirit week at BBA. On Friday, the boys got to participate in a special half time game for boys their age. They have been practicing for several weeks for the big game. They were so excited to play and had a great time. Micah's team won 4-1. Andrew played good defense and Micah dribbled the ball very well. Hope you enjoy this video clip of the big game.

A Preacher Like Dad

This last week, I had the privilege of having my dad as our Missions Conference speaker. What a joy to hear him preach and to serve the Lord with him again! This last Christmas, I wrote a simple poem about what God has done in my life this last year. I am by no means trying to become a poet, but just expressing God's goodness to me and my love and gratitude for my dad. I hope it will be a blessing to you!

A Preacher Like Dad

Daddy’s a preacher,
And a fine one at that!
God’s Word sent from heaven,
Through the lips of my dad.

When I was young,
Others wondered if I
Would follow His lead
In pursuit of the prize.

In my youth I refused,
To pursue other things.
But as I grew older,
I heard God calling me.

So now here I sit
In my office to study,
Pouring over my Bible,
Getting ready for Sunday.

What a joy! What a blessing!
Just to follow the path
So faithfully blazed
By the life of my dad.

40 Doors update 2/11

It has been several weeks since my last update but it feels like about 4 days! These have been wonderful but busy days. I am looking forward to our "normal" routine settling in over the next week. Anyway, I cannot report today on the exact number of homes that have I have been to during these weeks. The business of the schedule has made it so getting out was the priority and not so much the number of homes. However, the Lord has given several divine appointments and has worked in obvious ways. This last Sunday was the start of our missions conference with my dad as the speaker. God was defenitely speaking to me personally about bearing fruit for Him. As I have been seeking to witness for Him, there has been blessing but little visible fruit. On Sunday and again on Monday, I cried out to the Lord for the privilege of seeing a soul saved. On Monday afternoon, the missionaries and I went soulwinning together. At the second house we came to, Nic Ruby and I met a woman who had recently moved to Clio and the Lord had prepared her heart. She immediately invited us in. By God's grace she was saved about an hour later! What a joy to see the Lord directly answer prayer. Please pray for this woman and her family to attend church and grow in the Lord. Another praise has been that a family that I met my first week of door to door has been faithfully attending our church. What a blessing! I look forward to seeing the Lord work again this week. Thank you for your prayers!
